Editorial Review:

Album Description:
One of the most renowned and continually relevant Hip-Hop emcees of all time, GZA returns with his fifth solo album, Pro Tools. GZA is an original member of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan. GZA has established himself as a perennial force in Hip-Hop, having amassed sales of over 1.5 million units in his 13+ year solo career. GZA's contributions have driven the phenomenal success of the 2008 Wu-Tang Clan reunion album "8 Diagrams" as well as two of independent Hip Hop's flagship releases: "Think Differently Music: Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture" and the DJ Muggz/GZA collaboration "Grandmasters" (both having scanned close to 60,000+ units to date). After a summer 2007 headlining stint with the Wu-Tang Clan via the renowned 'Rock The Bells' tour, GZA is hitting the road throughout 2008 on the 'Liquid Swords' tour which touches down in over 20 markets. With an entrenched and rabidly loyal fan base, Pro Tools marks the long awaited return of one of Hip-Hop's most revered and respected emcees.

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - A strong album lyrically. Beats could use work.
I am a big Wu-tang fan and have all of GZA's solo albums to date. This album is fairly decent overall. GZA's lyricism is still top shelf. His flow has gotten more laid back and slower in delivery over the last few albums, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. A lot of times I think it sounds smooth when he is dropping some knowledge and rapping in this way. It has kind of a laid back confidence to it and emanates his seasonedness in the game. The beats on this album are not spectacular in ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great album
I definatly don't think is a legendry like liquid swords or classic like grandmaster and beaneth the surface but not as average as legend of the liquid swords. He almost sounds undetermend and bored unike his last albums but still top notch lyrics. My top 5 not in order!
Intromental (sweet beat)
7 pounds (good production good verses what more could you ask for!)
0% Fiance (great song same beat as stay in line but speed up)
Paper Plate (tasteful diss twords 50 cent)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - GZA keeps on doing it !!!
GZA never dissapoints... Love "Life is a Movie" with the Gary Numan "Films " beat...SWEET !!! RZA's rhymes are straight fire...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Pearls next to pebbles
In a wasteland of electronic voices and cocaine-driven ignorance, RZA and GZA continue to plant the seeds of truth. It's up to the kids to eat the fruit and not the candy.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - GZA HAS DONE IT AGAIN
IVE ALWAYZ SAID THAT GENIUS WAS THA BRAIN OF THA WUTANG VOLTRON. NOT TO TAKE ANYTHING FROM THA OTHA WU TANG MEMBAS, BUT THINK ABOUT SOME OF GENIUS SONGS LIKE LABELS,ANIMAL PLANET.I MEAN ON ANIMAL PLANET HE USES ANIMAL NAMES TO TAKE THA PLACE OF HUMANS WITH MIND BLOWING EMPHASIS. THIS CAT IS ON A WHOLE NOTHA LEVEL. ON THIS ALBUM HE TAKES SHOTS AT 50 ON PAPER PLATES WHICH IS LAUGH OUT LOUD FUNNY ONCE U LISTEN TO IT."IF U A PIMP PUT HO'S ON THA STROLL". AND THATS WHAT PISSES GENIUS OFF AND REAL HIP HOP HEADS ... Read More
